Top Podiatrist: "The Real Reason Your Bunions Keep Getting Worse (And How to Finally Stop It without surgery)"

How an award-winning consultant podiatrist's discovery finally stops bunion pain. Without surgery, splints, or useless gel pads.

I'm about to piss off every foot surgeon, every private orthotics clinic, and every pharmaceutical company in Britain.

Because what I'm about to share could cost them millions in lost revenue.

But I don't care anymore.

After watching my patient cry in my consulting room, four years deep into an NHS waiting list, the pain in her feet finally too much to bear...

After watching her sacrifice four years of her life waiting for a surgery date that kept being pushed back...

I knew I had to expose the truth.

Even if it destroys my reputation.

Even if they come after me.

Because what you're about to discover could save you from years of needless pain and from joining a queue of over 700,000 people waiting for NHS bunion surgery.

The truth I'm sharing might cost me relationships with colleagues. But if it saves even one person from years of unnecessary suffering, it's worth it.

The next 5 minutes could be the most important of your life.

My name is Mr. Hussain.

I am a published, award-winning consultant podiatrist with over 25 years of clinical experience treating tens of thousands of patients with every foot condition imaginable.

I've treated professional athletes, nurses on 12-hour shifts, teachers who stand all day, and grandmothers who just want to walk to the shops without wincing.

Bunions. Hammertoes. Plantar fasciitis. Metatarsalgia. Neuromas.

You name it, I've treated it.

I founded Dr Foot over 25 years ago. We have been one of Britain's leading podiatry and orthotics providers ever since.

And for most of my career, I recommended exactly what every other podiatrist recommends. The "standard protocol."

Until I realised the standard protocol was designed to keep patients coming back. Not to actually fix the problem.

And I'm about to expose the dirty secret that keeps millions of people trapped in pain, while the medical industry laughs all the way to the bank.

But first, let me tell you about the afternoon that changed everything...

WHY MY PATIENT BROKE DOWN IN MY CLINIC

It was 3:30 PM on a Tuesday.

I was finishing my clinic when Mrs. Henderson walked in. I hadn't seen her in six months.

She sat down slowly, carefully, the way people do when every step is something they have to manage.

She'd been on the NHS waiting list for bunion surgery for four years.

Four years of being told "you're on the list." Four years of the pain getting steadily worse. Four years of cutting holidays short, turning down invitations, lying awake at 3am because the throbbing wouldn't stop.

Four years of gel pads and painkillers and wider shoes. None of which touched the real pain.

She'd just received a letter that morning. Her surgery date had been pushed back again. Another 18-month wait.

"Mr. Hussain," she said quietly, and her voice cracked. "I don't know how much more of this I can take."

And she wept.

Not from self-pity. From pure, exhausted desperation.

This 61-year-old retired school dinner lady who had spent decades on her feet. Who had done everything she was told. Who had been nothing but patient.

And the system had failed her completely.

I sat there staring at her notes and something clicked in my mind.

She didn't need to wait for surgery to stop being in pain.

The pain wasn't coming from the bunion bump itself. It was coming from the mechanical pressure building on that joint with every single step she took.

And nobody. Not her GP, not the orthopaedic team, not the pharmacist selling her gel pads. Nobody was doing a single thing to relieve that pressure.

For Mrs. Henderson, I'd recommended everything my training taught me. Toe spacers, wider shoes, rigid splints, pain medication.

None of it touched the real cause of her pain.

That night, something inside me snapped.

I wasn't going to watch Mrs. Henderson suffer for another 18 months waiting for a surgical date.

THE TRUTH ABOUT BUNION PAIN NOBODY TOLD HER

For the next three months I lived like a man possessed.

I devoured every clinical study I could find. Consulted researchers at two British universities. Spent over £5,000 of my own money on specialist journals, research databases, and consultations with foot biomechanics experts.

Not just to help Mrs. Henderson. To figure out if there was a solution I could offer every bunion patient who walked through my door.

And what I found made me want to sweep every useless gel pad and toe spacer off the shelves of every high street pharmacy in the country.

The entire bunion pain industry is built on a lie.

A lie that keeps you suffering, keeps you buying products that don't work, and eventually has you joining a 700,000-person NHS waiting list for surgery that could be years away.

Here's what they don't want you to know:

That gel pad you're pressing against your bunion? It is doing absolutely nothing for the pain that matters.

95% of bunion sufferers are treating the symptom, not the source of the pain.

It's not about "padding the bump." It's not about "wearing wider shoes." It's not about "taking paracetamol and waiting for surgery."

That's why none of the things I recommended ever actually stopped the pain.

The REAL source of bunion pain is something so mechanical, so obvious, I was embarrassed I'd spent 25 years missing it.

Your bunion joint is being crushed with abnormal force. Every single step. All day long. That pressure is creating the pain. And nobody not the NHS, not the pharmacy, not the gel pad company is doing a single thing to relieve it.

WHY EVERYTHING YOU'VE TRIED HAS FAILED

You've probably already tried half a dozen things to stop the pain.

Let me tell you exactly why each one failed.

Gel bunion pads. Cushion the bump on the side of your foot. The bump is not generating the pain. So nothing changes.

Bunion correctors and splints. Push the bone toward midline at night. The moment you stand up the next morning, ground reaction forces overwhelm the correction. The joint loads the same way it always did.

Wide fit shoes. Reduce friction on the bump. They don't alter the biomechanics of how your foot loads during walking. The joint still takes the same force with every step.

Standard custom orthotics. Often £300 or more from a podiatrist. Support the arch, cushion the heel. Not specifically engineered to offload the bunion joint unless your podiatrist has built in a first ray cutout. Most do not.

Ibuprofen and painkillers. Reduce the inflammation temporarily. They do nothing about the pressure that is causing the inflammation in the first place. As soon as they wear off, the pain comes back.

Cortisone injections. Powerful short term relief. The pressure is still loading the joint with every step. The inflammation returns. Then you need another injection.

Every single one of those products targets the bump. Or the bone. Or the symptom.

None of them target the pressure.

And that's why your drawer is full of things that didn't work.

YOUR PAIN COMES FROM PRESSURE, NOT THE BUMP

Your bunion joint (in clinical terms, the first metatarsophalangeal joint) is designed to absorb a specific amount of force with every step you take.

But when your foot posture concentrates abnormal force on the inner forefoot, right where your bunion sits, that joint is taking a beating it was never built to handle.

Inflammation builds. The joint capsule swells. The nerve endings fire constantly. The 2am throbbing that wakes you up. The walking-on-knives pain by the end of a shift. The burning that starts the moment you put weight on the foot in the morning.

That's your bunion pain. Not the bump. The pressure. The abnormal load crushing that joint with every single step you take.

You take around 8,000 steps a day. That's 8,000 moments of excessive force hitting an already inflamed joint.

The medical industry KNOWS this.

They've known it for decades. Forefoot valgus. Pronation. First ray hypermobility. The mechanical loading patterns that drive bunion pain are well-documented in the clinical literature.

But here's the kicker...

There's no money in fixing it.

Why?

Because the solution is too simple. It doesn't require a prescription. It doesn't require a waiting list. It doesn't require an appointment. And it costs a fraction of what clinics charge.

You can't build a profitable business model around it. The NHS won't fund it. Private clinics won't recommend it because there's no repeat revenue in it.

So they keep you on the hamster wheel:

Gel pads that dull nothing, then wider shoes that change nothing, then painkillers that wear off, then cortisone injections that last six weeks, then private orthotics that don't address the loading, then and finally, surgery often years away on the NHS, tens of thousands privately for pain that could have been addressed from the ground up.

It's genius, really.

If you're a medical executive who sees human suffering as a revenue stream.

THE 3 STEP METHOD THAT FINALLY STOPS THE PAIN

Remember Mrs. Henderson sobbing in my consulting room, facing another 18 months on the waiting list?

Eight weeks after my discovery, she walked into my clinic without a limp.

No surgery. No injections. No prescription painkillers.

Truly life-changing.

Just a handcrafted insole built around three clinical principles that every other bunion product on the market completely ignores.

To actually stop bunion pain, you need to do THREE things simultaneously with every single step, all day long:

1. RELIEVE THE JOINT Give the bunion joint a dedicated pocket of space so it never presses against a hard surface from below. Zero compression. Zero direct contact. This alone removes the source of the constant low-level pain most people have simply accepted as normal.

2. REDIRECT THE FORCE Shift the ground reaction forces away from the bunion joint with every single stride. Stop 8,000 moments of abnormal loading every day. This is what actually stops the deep, throbbing pain that builds through the day.

3. CORRECT THE ALIGNMENT Address the foot posture driving the overload from above. As the mechanics improve, the inflammation that is causing your pain has a chance to calm consistently, day after day.

Miss even ONE of these steps, and you are wasting your time.

That's why gel pads don't stop the pain. (They sit under the bump. They do nothing about the force crushing the joint with every step.)

That's why wider shoes don't stop the pain. (The pressure isn't coming from the side. It's coming from below.)

That's why waiting for surgery doesn't stop the pain. (Surgery addresses the bone position. Your pain is happening right now, today, with every step you take.)

You need all three. Together. With every step. All day. Starting now.

And that's exactly what I built.

WHY WORD SPREAD FAST AMONG WAITING LIST PATIENTS

After Mrs. Henderson's recovery, word spread fast.

A week later, another patient, David, a 55-year-old secondary school teacher who hadn't completed a full day without pain in over two years appeared without an appointment.

"Mr. Hussain, Margaret Henderson told me what you did for her. I need it. Please."

This man had been told by two separate surgeons that surgery was "inevitable." He'd been managing on ibuprofen and sitting down between lessons.

Two weeks later: first full pain-free teaching week in over two years. Removed himself from the surgical waiting list.

Within months we had waiting lists.

Teachers who couldn't stand... nurses who needed to finish 12-hour shifts... grandparents who just wanted to walk their grandchildren to school...

Every. Single. One. Got. Better.

Not "managed their pain better." Not "learned to live with it better."

Actually. Better. Without waiting for surgery.

That's when the threats from competitors started.

WHY THE SURGEONS WANT THIS BURIED

Here's something else they don't want you to know:

Your GP almost certainly didn't tell you about pressure redistribution because GPs aren't trained in foot biomechanics. Your NHS consultant didn't tell you because their job is the surgical fix, not the daily pain. The only people equipped to identify this mechanism are specialist podiatrists. And most of them sit in private clinics charging £200 a session.

That's not a conspiracy. That's just how the system has been built.

First it was "friendly" warnings from a representative of a major private orthotics company.

"Mr. Hussain, what you're doing is dangerous. People need REAL medical treatment. You should stop before this gets out of hand..."

Then came the supplier pressure.

A materials supplier I had worked with for over a decade suddenly couldn't fulfil our orders.

"Sorry, Mr. Hussain. Corporate decision. Nothing personal."

I found out later they had been acquired by a private equity group with significant investment in surgical centres and private orthotics clinics.

They wanted this product buried. Because it was making their surgical procedures and expensive private orthotics completely unnecessary.

A clinical insole that:

Fixed the ROOT CAUSE of bunion pain (not just the symptom)

Worked passively all day in everyday shoes (no appointments, no recovery)

Let people treat themselves at home (not in a private orthotics clinic)

Was making surgery referrals across Britain genuinely unnecessary

But here's what those competitors didn't count on...

I'd already spent 25 years building a podiatry company around one principle: do what is clinically right for the patient, not what is financially right for the industry.

And I wasn't about to stop now.

THE HANDCRAFTED INSOLE THAT STOPS BUNION PAIN

It's called the Dr Foot Bespoke Bunion Insole.

And it is THE only insole on the market that addresses all three mechanical requirements for genuine bunion pain relief simultaneously with every step:

FIRST RAY CUTOUT A precision pocket carved into the medial forefoot of the insole shell, giving your bunion joint dedicated space to sit completely clear. Zero shell contact. Zero compression from below. This single feature absent from every mass-market insole changes the experience from your very first step.

4° LATERAL FOREFOOT WEDGE Actively shifts ground reaction forces away from the first metatarsophalangeal joint with every stride. 8,000 fewer moments of crushing load every day. This is the step every other insole misses. This is why every other insole eventually fails.

4° MEDIAL REARFOOT WEDGE Corrects the foot posture driving the overload from above. Combined with the forefoot wedge, this is the comprehensive correction that targets the mechanical cause of bunion progression. Not the symptom. The cause.

PREMIUM HAND GRADED TOP COVER Hand graded and glued onto the insole shell by our in-house podiatrists for shock absorption and all-day comfort. The difference is felt the moment you slide them into your shoes.

An honest word about what this product is, and what it isn't:

This insole will not change the appearance of your bunion. Only surgery does that. What it does is stop the daily pain coming from how that joint loads with every step you take.

For the 700,000 people on the NHS waiting list with two to three years of waiting still ahead of them, that distinction is everything.

All three. Simultaneously. With every step. All day.

You slide it into your shoe in the morning and let 25 years of clinical podiatry do the rest.

No surgery date to wait for. No appointments. No prescription. No £10,000 bill. No 4-year waiting list.

Just your foot finally getting what it has been screaming for:

RELIEF. TODAY. NOT IN FOUR YEARS.

HOW IT STOPS YOUR PAIN ALL DAY, EVERY DAY

From the moment you put on your shoes:

Step 1: Immediate Relief

The first ray cutout means your bunion joint is not pressing against anything from below. For many people, this alone reduces the constant background pain that has become so familiar they've forgotten what normal feels like. Most people describe it as "like someone finally released the pressure." That happens with your first steps.

Throughout the Day: Force Redirection

The lateral forefoot wedge is quietly doing something no gel pad or splint has ever done actively shifting the abnormal load away from your inflamed joint with every stride. You are not dulling the pain. You are removing the mechanical source of it. This is the step every other product misses. This is why the others always fail to stop the pain long-term.

Over Weeks of Consistent Wear: Alignment and Slowing Progression

The medial rearfoot wedge corrects the alignment pattern that has been concentrating force on your bunion joint. As that force redistributes, the inflammation driving your pain has room to calm. Most people notice meaningful reduction in their end-of-day aching within the first two weeks of consistent wear.

After a full day on your feet?

The throbbing is reduced. The swelling calmer. The aching that normally follows a day of walking genuinely less.

Not "dulled" like a painkiller. Not "numbed temporarily" like an injection.

Actually. Less painful. Because the source of the pain has been mechanically addressed, not masked.

THE RESULTS THAT HAVE SURGEONS SCRAMBLING

Thousands of people across Britain have now worn the Dr Foot Bespoke Bunion Insole.

The results?

1,349 verified five-star reviews on our store

Rated 4.8 out of 5 across all verified buyers

Patients reporting cancelled surgical consultations across Britain

But my favourite result is the emails we receive from patients who've come off the surgical waiting list because the pain is finally manageable.

Check out what real customers are saying:

Sarah Hertfordshire: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Within two weeks of wearing these I was walking to the shops without stopping to rest. I'd forgotten what that felt like. I was on the NHS waiting list I'm staying on it, but for the first time in years I can actually live my life while I wait."

Linda Glasgow: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "I'm 63 and had been on the NHS waiting list for three years. The pain was getting worse every month. My daughter ordered these for me and I cried properly cried when I walked around the supermarket without stopping for the first time in two years."

Patricia Bristol: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "I'd been in pain for four years waiting for an NHS date. These insoles haven't removed my bunion I know that but the daily pain is so much better I've actually started walking to work again. Worth every penny."

WHY THIS COSTS LESS THAN ONE PRIVATE APPOINTMENT

Let me show you what fixing bunions costs in Britain right now:

The Surgical Route:

Single foot (private): £7,000–£15,000

Both feet: £13,000–£30,000

6–12 weeks recovery (unpaid if self-employed)

Physical therapy: £1,200–£2,500

Recurrence within five years: up to 50%

Total: Your savings, your time, and a coin-flip on whether it lasts

The Private Orthotics Clinic Route:

Assessment + insoles: £400–£600

Follow-up appointments: £60–£100 each

Cortisone injections: £150–£400 each

Result: Temporary relief, unchanged mechanics, still heading toward surgery

Meanwhile 700,000 people sit on the NHS waiting list in daily pain, many for years. And the private surgical industry charges up to £15,000 for a procedure that addresses the bone position but does nothing about the pain you're experiencing right now, today.

Temporary relief is a permanent income stream. A waiting list is a pipeline.

But here's what really makes them angry...

The Dr Foot Bespoke Bunion Insole should cost £200. That's what equivalent clinical-specification orthotics sell for in private clinics when they include the correct features at all.

I didn't build this to get rich.

I built it because I watched Mrs. Henderson cry after being told she faced another 18 months of daily pain on a waiting list. Because people deserve better than years of unnecessary suffering while they wait for a procedure that may not even stop their pain permanently.

So here's the deal:

The standard price is £89.99. Already a fraction of what private clinics charge for inferior devices.

But that's not what you'll pay today.

WHY WE'RE GIVING YOU 33% OFF TODAY

Every pair of Dr Foot Bespoke Bunion Insoles is handcrafted and individually finished by a qualified podiatrist in our UK lab.

The wedges are applied by hand. The first ray cutout is carved individually. Because your foot and your bunion joint, deserves precision, not a production line.

But we have found efficiencies that allow us to pass real savings on without compromising the clinical quality that makes this product work.

My response to the surgical establishment trying to suppress this?

Put it on sale and get it into as many people's hands as possible.

Just £59.99.

Less than ONE cortisone injection that will wear off in six weeks.

Less than ONE private orthotics consultation.

Less than 1% of the cost of surgery, and with none of the risk, none of the recovery time, and none of the 50% recurrence rate.

For the only insole that delivers all three biomechanical requirements your bunion joint actually needs.

Why would I do this?

Because every person who avoids surgery is proof that the system funnelling them there was wrong.

Because I want thousands of cancelled surgical consultations before the private orthotics lobby can silence us.

WHY WE CAN'T MAKE THESE FAST ENOUGH

Every pair is made to order. By hand. By a qualified podiatrist in our UK lab.

That means we cannot manufacture thousands of pairs overnight. Our production capacity is finite. Deliberately, because clinical quality cannot be rushed.

Not because we are playing games.

But because handcrafted clinical orthotics made to proper specification cannot be scaled like a factory insole without destroying the thing that makes them work.

When our last product feature was shared widely, we had a waiting list within 72 hours.

If you are reading this, units are still available at the discounted price. But I genuinely cannot promise for how long.

And here's the thing...

Every day you wait is another day you're:

Funding the private orthotics system that is not solving your problem

Allowing 8,000 more moments of abnormal force to damage your joint

Edging closer to the surgical referral you don't need and can't afford

Living with pain that proper mechanical support could resolve

While the solution that is cancelling surgeries across Britain is sitting right here for less than a dinner out.

⚠️ THIS 33% DISCOUNT IS A LIMITED OFFER ⚠️

After it ends, the price returns to £89.99. These are made to order by hand, so our waiting list fills fast. Don't say I didn't warn you.

TRY IT RISK FREE FOR 90 DAYS

Look, I get it.

You've been burned before. Gel pads. Splints. Private insoles. Possibly even surgery that didn't last.

So here's my promise:

Wear the Dr Foot Bespoke Bunion Insole every day. Let the first ray cutout take the pressure off the joint. Let the lateral wedge redirect the forces. Let the rearfoot correction address the alignment driving the load.

If you don't notice a meaningful reduction in your bunion pain. If you don't find yourself one morning realising with surprise that your foot doesn't ache yet contact us.

Our clinical team will personally review your case. We are a podiatry company staffed by real clinicians, not a call centre. We understand this condition and we will make it right.

And we have 24/7 live podiatrist chat on our website. A real qualified podiatrist answers. Not a script. Not a chatbot. An actual clinician who can advise on fit, timescales, and expectations.

Why am I so confident?

Because we hold a 4.8 star rating across 1,349 verified reviews. And the emails about cancelled surgery keep coming in every week.

TWO PATHS: KEEP HURTING OR DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT

Right now, you're at a crossroads.

Path #1: Keep Doing What You're Doing

Keep applying gel pads that change nothing about the force destroying your joint. Keep tolerating the throbbing. Keep hobbling. Keep cutting days short. Keep watching your bunion grow bigger as 8,000 moments of abnormal load hit it every day.

Keep heading toward a surgical waiting list that could be years away, while the pain continues to build every single day you wait.

Keep being a revenue stream for the industry profiting from your ongoing pain.

Path #2: Try What Is Actually Cancelling Surgeries

Spend less than a dinner out. Get a handcrafted insole that is clinically engineered to address the mechanical cause of your bunion pain not the symptom. Wake up tomorrow with something you haven't felt in years: genuine hope.

Join thousands of people who have already chosen this path and are walking, working, and living again, managing their pain properly while they wait, or finding they no longer feel they need to be on the list at all.

The choice seems pretty obvious to me.

P.S. Mrs. Henderson, the patient you read about at the start, is still on the NHS waiting list. The bone hasn't moved. But she's been walking her dog again every morning for the past four months. The throbbing that used to wake her at 2am has stopped. Those two things can coexist. That's what this product does.

P.P.P.S. I recently received a message from a patient who had been on the NHS waiting list for three years. She wrote to say she'd just completed a 10-minute walk to the shops something she hadn't managed without stopping since 2022. She's still on the list. But for the first time in years, she's living rather than just waiting. That could be you. But only if you act now.

P.P.S. The Dr Foot Bespoke Bunion Insole is handcrafted by qualified podiatrists in our UK lab. Every single pair. Because clinical precision and mass production are incompatible. We chose precision.

P.P.P.S. We have 24/7 live podiatrist chat on our website. If you have any questions at all about sizing, your specific bunion, expected results ask. A real, qualified podiatrist will answer you personally.
